STATEWIDE PUBLIC AWARENESS & OUTREACH CAMPAIGN
Human trafficking happens in Colorado, often right in front of us without most of us even recognizing it.
In response to a legislative mandate, the Colorado Human Trafficking Council worked with Orange Circle to conduct formative research and develop a broad reach Campaign Plan designed to increase knowledge about all types of human trafficking and encourage Coloradoans to report suspicious circumstances.
RESEARCH INFORMS CAMPAIGN STRATEGY
Colorado residents are motivated by the things that are close to them. They want to feel safe and ensure that the people that they care about are not at risk of being harmed. They want to live in communities where criminals are held accountable for breaking the law. They want to protect the human rights of fellow community members and support social justice.
Survivor Informed Concept & Messaging
Showing the transition from kind and flattering words into manipulative and threatening language that traffickers use to trap anyone who is vulnerable is must be called out as wrong and criminal.
Broad reach media & community engagment
Planning a variety of outreach efforts, spanning two years in the market, allowed the campaign to gain media attention, win several awards, and also make an impact with residents across the state of Colorado.
